Kingdom Come: the return!

Frontiers Records announce the completion of Kingdom Come's new studio album entitled Ain't Crying For The Moon to be released in Europe on October 20th.
"After having done a lot of experimenting with Perpetual", says Lenny Wolf, the mastermind behind Kingdom Come, "I thought it was the time to take out the axe again and rock the house. The new CD will be one of my heaviest recordings ever. I was trying to build walls of guitars in combination with that typical KC moody and spacey approach. It does not have the typical blues factor anymore, which many of you may remember from the first records. I have transported my roots into the year 2006. "Still the new album keeps on having a very personal and quite recognizable touch, even if Kingdom Come are an ever-evolving musical reality. "Of course when we will come to your towns, we will definitely play songs from our early days as well", adds Wolf who, as a special gift to the fans, decided to include in the new album track listing an exclusive remake of Kingdom Come's first US hit Get It On, originally released on the band's debut album in 1988.

Ain't Crying For The Moon shall include the following tracks (click on the song title to hear an MP3 sample):

Two Legged Sheep
Not Here To Be Your Friend
Same Old Stars
Ain't Crying For The Moon
Perfect Citizen
This Is My Life
Bon Scott

Hands down: Helmet are back with a very good album, Monochrome

For the follow up to Size Matters, Helmet left Interscope Records and got signed to Warcon, enlisting new drummer Mike Jost, bass player Jeremy Chatelain plus Strap It On and Meantime soundman Wharton Tiers to co-produce the record. Even going as far as recording on the same tape machine they used on those records. The result is of course something new with a little bit of old, but always good.
Listening to all the Helmet LPs, it's plain to see how far the band's influence goes, from Deftones, Chevelle, Norma Jean, to even Killswitch Engage. Guitar master Page Hamilton and the band have even been around since way, way before Korn and similars. These guys have made modern metal way before modern metal got started. This is a good reason to give this album a chance, listen to Monochrome and you won't be surely disappointed.
Unfortunately Monochrome registered a first-week tally of almost 5,500 copies landing on N° 159 of the Billboard chart - a step down from the nearly 10,000 units that its predecessor, Size Matters, opened with back in October 2004.

Honey For Christ, "The Darkest Pinnacle Of Light"

Style: Heavy Metal
Label: Rundown Records
Total playing time: 26:24
Web site: http://www.honeyforchrist.co.uk/

Tracklist:

1 Satan & Swastika
2 The Final Transition
3 The Darkest Pinnacle Of Light
4 Sorrow Descending

5 Signs Of Bitterness

Believe it or not, Honey For Christ have came out with their strongest material to date. Formed in 1998 this Northern Irish trio have released a bunch of demos but The Darkest Pinnacle Of Light it’s without any doubt their best one. First of all: praise should be given to HFC for producing these tracks by themselves and coming out with a thundering and polished sound, even if the final mix could be better. Anyway actual musicianship it’s impressive and that’s the only thing I care for. More aggressive than the previous demo (Forging Iron Will) The Darkest Pinnacle Of Light, Honey For Christ continue - thanks God, or maybe Satan, hihi! - to escape any standard classification. These Irish dudes are a powerful metal band, that’s it. The blasting Satan & Swastika and the bloody title track take a total all-guns-blazing drums assault with some perfect timing riffs and a bit of clean vocals which show some well appreciated pieces of originality. The Final Transition it’s more mid paced and surely it’s one the most well arranged track of this EP. “Sorrow Descending” it’s a very challenging song, kinda of Katatonia-meets-Moonspell type of magnetic ballad. Signs Of Bitterness it’s darkish too, not so straightforward but with a strong section which will blow your head away. In conclusion: a band that doesn’t fear to experiment and cross the heavy sub-genres. Honey For Christ cannot be considered a promise only, but one of the best Emerald island current bands. Give them a chance instead of listening to copycats clones or fake make-up-only clowns.
